The existing structure was undergoing extensive redevelopment and maintenance upgrade works, and a new industrial coating system was required to protect the external concrete surfaces.
A full-pressure washer clean was initially undertaken to remove surface debris and contaminates, followed by surface preparation and remedial repair works to minor concrete spalls and cracking.
Hempel UK Ltd specified and manufactured the protective coating system, including Hempadur Mastic and Hempathane. It was roller-applied, and dry film thickness tests were recorded to ensure defined coverage.
